Tardies

Florida Law requires mandatory school attendance. After a student accumulates five unexcused absences within a period of 90 days or 10 absences, excused or unexcused within a period of 90 days, the school will contact the parents and arrange for a meeting to institute interventions. Five tardies to school now equals an unexcused absence.

It is the responsibility of each parent/guardian to make certain that their child arrives at school on time. Students must be in their classrooms at 8:15 ready to learn. Students who enter the classroom after the 8:15 bell are considered tardy. Repeated tardies are considered a serious disruption to the learning process of the entire class. A student in 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade who accumulates 3 tardies during a nine week grading period will serve an after school detention.

If a child arrives on campus between 8:15 and 8:30 a.m. they should go directly to class. Students arriving after 8:30 a.m. must check in at the office and the parent will escort the child to class.
